Here at Richmond Moms Blog, we’re working hard to bring you FREE summer fun activities here in the RVA. For the month of July, here are some fun activities the whole family can enjoy. Have something you’d like to add? Email info@richmondmomsblog.com or add it to our calendar.

Saturday, July 1st

  • Saturday LIVE at Meadow Farm Museum. Enjoy an afternoon of interactive, living history demonstrations as you explore this mid-19th-century farm. The theme is Children’s Toys and Games. 12 pm-3:30 pm at Crump Park/Meadow Farm.

Tuesday, July 4th

  • CarMax 4th of July at Lewis Ginter. FREE admission to the garden on this day includes Wild Art: A Journey Off-Canvas, live music, parade, activities, and much more. Open rain or shine!
  • Red, White & Lights! Patriotic activities, food trucks, and a performance by the Richmond Symphony with a laser light show finale. Gates open at 4 pm at Meadow Farm/Crump Park.

Thursday, July 6th

  • Mornings in July at ARCpark. New theme each week. Includes music, dance, theater, and wellness. Free to all with a special gift each week for the first 100 kids to arrive.

Friday, July 7th

  • Movie Night @ Jefferson Park (1921 Princess Anne Ave). Featuring Sing. Activities begin at 8 pm. The movie begins at 8:30 pm. Refreshments available for sale.

Saturday, July 8th

  • Hanover Tomato Festival at Pole Green Park. 9 am-4 pm.

Tuesday, July 11th

  • Mornings in July at ARCpark. New theme each week includes music, dance, theater, and wellness. Free to all with a special gift each week for the first 100 kids to arrive.

Wednesday, July 12th

  • Willow Lawn Mommy & Me – Rolie Polie Guacamole Kid’s Concert – 10 am
  • Barefoot Puppets Presents: Trickster Tales. This show brings traditional stories from West Africa to life with expressive rod puppets, original music, and lots of puns. It’s a high-energy show with lots of laughs! Information: 652-1460. 10 am-11 am at the Henrico Theatre.

Friday, July 14th

  • Movie Night at the Southside Community Center (6255 Old Warwick Rd): Featuring Moana. Activities begin at 8 pm. The movie begins at 8:30 pm. Refreshments available for sale.

Friday, July 21st

  • Movie Night @ Abner Clay Park (Leigh Street & 200 W Clay St). Featuring Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Activities begin at 8 pm and movie begins at 8:30 pm. Refreshments available for sale.

Friday, July 28th

  • Movie Night @ Battery Park (2405 Hawthorne Ave). Featuring Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them. Activities begin at 8 pm. The movie begins at 8:30 pm. Refreshments available for sale.

Saturday, July 29th

  • Richmond Dragon Boat Festival. Come watch as colorfully-costumed Richmonders race dragon boats down the James River. Or if you’re feeling up for it, be one of those colorfully-costumed Richmonders racing down the river! Between boat races, there will be Chinese cultural performances and plenty of food trucks to keep you nourished.
  • Under the Stars Outdoor Movie Night featuring the movie SING. 7:30 pm-10:30 pm at Walkerton Tavern. Free ice cream at this event!
